ASFPM reviewed the current guidelines and policies associated with floodway mapping and managing development in mapped floodways to evaluate whether these procedures support efforts to responsibly manage development within the most hazardous part of the floodplain (i.e. with the fastest and deepest floodwaters). This report documents any alternatives to current procedures that may better reflect the original intent of the regulatory floodway.
